Australia, 29 September, 2021 – Mercer has announced the appointment of Claire Ross as Superannuation Services Leader for Australia. Ms Ross, currently a Senior Partner at Mercer in the UK and Chief Operating Officer for Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Pacific, will be responsible for delivering high quality and competitive services to Mercer’s superannuation trustee clients, and optimising the experience they offer to their members.

With over 30 years’ experience in client management and operations, she brings a depth of knowledge across the financial services industry. She has previously held leadership roles in retirement administration and wealth transformation across the UK and the US.

David Bryant, Mercer Australia’s CEO and President, Pacific Region, said Ms Ross’ extensive experience would benefit Mercer’s trustee clients enormously, particularly in a time of significant change.

“Claire has a strong track record for leading high-performing teams and has built an extensive career in the pension industry. She’s known for driving innovation and delivering quality service to clients,” Mr Bryant said.

“In the current environment of increasing regulatory pressure, trustees are constantly reviewing how they can most efficiently deliver services to their members. Claire’s experience in delivering client outcomes, coupled with her global expertise, will help our trustee clients navigate uncertainty and meet the changing needs and expectations of members.”

Ms Ross said she was excited about the opportunity to provide a best-in-class service to the one in seven working Australians whose superannuation is supported by Mercer.

“As the industry faces ongoing change, Mercer is well positioned to help power our clients’ superannuation businesses, big or small. I’m looking forward to supporting our trustee clients across our full suite of superannuation services as we partner to achieve their goals and deliver sustainable outcomes for their members,” Ms Ross said.
