Mercer, a global consulting leader in advancing health, wealth and career, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh and McLennan Companies (NYSE:MMC), has announced the appointment of Gaye Morris in the role of People and Culture Leader.
In her role, Ms Morris will lead Mercer’s People and Culture function for Mercer Pacific’s workforce of 2,000 in Australia and New Zealand.
With more than 20 years’ experience as a senior Human Resources executive in the financial services sector, Ms Morris joins Mercer from KPMG. Across six years at the consultancy she held a number of roles, most recent of which was Head of People Experience and Reward. Her strategies led to significant change and transformation across the business’ people agenda. Prior to KPMG, Ms Morris spent 14 years at ANZ in a range of senior HR positions, including global functional HR roles with large, geographically dispersed teams.
CEO Ben Walsh said Ms Morris’ appointment would ensure Mercer’s continued success in harnessing the power of its people and teams for the benefit of our clients and customers.
“People and Culture is a priority for Mercer and for me as CEO,” said Mr Walsh.
“Gaye’s broad experience in HR in both advisory firm and financial services organisations will help strengthen the capabilities of our workforce at a time of major change and transformation for the clients we serve,” he said.
Ms Morris said she was looking forward to supporting Mercer’s growth and purpose of creating better lives via its People and Culture agenda.
“Mercer is a strong brand in the market with enormous opportunities ahead. We’re in a transformative time with the emergence of a next generation workforce. I look forward to shaping and equipping Mercer’s workforce with the skills and learning opportunities that help drive positive outcomes for our clients and for our people, now and into the future,” said Ms Morris.
